Coming soon with cheap 5G smartphone, only from 125 USD
5G is a new generation of connecting network technology that is gradually replacing the current 4G network. However, the current 5G connectivity feature mainly appears on high-end smartphones with high prices, making it difficult for many users to access and use 5G networks.
Mobile chip company Qualcomm has repeatedly expressed its desire to bring 5G network connectivity to as many devices as possible. Recently, the company has launched Snapdragon 480 chip to realize this. This is a model of mobile chip for the low-cost segment, with the emphasis on supporting 5G network connectivity.
Snapdragon 480 will be integrated with X51 modem, supporting both 5G mmWave and Sub-6GHz network connectivity standards, making it possible for smartphones to connect to 5G networks of all carriers.
Not only prominent in 5G connectivity, Qualcomm said the Snapdragon 480 chip will bring a series of improvements over the previous Snapdragon 4-series chips. Snapdragon 480 is built on 8nm process, uses Kryo 460 core with 2.0GHz frequency and Adreno 619 graphics processor, which improves performance up to 100% and ability to handle tasks with AI up to 70% compared to previous generation Snapdragon 460. Snapdragon 480 is also the first mobile chip of Snapdragon 4-series to support Quick Charge 4+ technology developed by Qualcomm.
In addition, Snapdragon 480 supports smartphones with FullHD + resolution screens and 120fps display speed, which enhances the experience when watching videos and playing games.
With the integrated Spectra 345 image processor, Snapdragon 480 chip supports up to 64 megapixel camera, allowing simultaneous capture from three 13-megapixel cameras or recording video from 3 cameras simultaneously (resolution resolution up to 720p). This promises to bring many impressive video and photography features for mid-range and low-priced smartphones in the future.
Qualcomm said some smartphone companies such as Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, Motorola, HMD … are ready to equip Snapdragon 480 chip on its products. Most likely, the first Snapdragon 480 smartphone will be released in the next few months, with prices expected to be between $ 125 and $ 150. Thus, with cheaper prices, users will have more opportunities to access 5G smartphones with “softer” prices, especially in developing markets.
