iPhone 12 will have a new design, improved camera, more 5G connectivity, but may not include charger and cable connection.
Instead of launching three iPhone models every year, this year Apple will likely launch four new iPhone models, including the iPhone 12, 12 Max, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max in September or October next year. Information about these products has been leaked from suppliers for many months now.
Size and screen technology
This year, users will have more iPhone screens of 5.4 inches and 6.7 inches. This information was first given by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, then, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal verified and confirmed.
Accordingly, the iPhone 12 will be the smallest model and the first iPhone model with a 5.4-inch screen. The 12 Max will be the successor to the iPhone XR and 11 with a 6.1-inch screen. The 12 Pro succeeds the 11 Pro but is increased in size to 6.1 inches, 12 Max. The top-end version, the iPhone 12 Pro Max, will have a 6.7-inch display.
This year, Apple probably won’t use LCD screens for low-cost models. All iPhones 12 use OLED screens, but from different suppliers, including BOE (China), LG and Samsung. Some sources say Apple has also tested the screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, but it is not clear if there is an application on the 2020 iPhone.
Square design
iPhone 12 may return to a “square to sharp” design like the iPhone 4 and 5, after a long time using the round design since the iPhone 6.
Many leaked iPhone 12 models also reveal this design. According to Bloomberg, all four new iPhone models have square edges, however, the higher-end Pro uses steel edges and the regular version uses aluminum.

5G connectivity
iPhone 12 will have 5G connectivity following the trend of smartphones in 2020. Many sources have also revealed this from the beginning of the year, however, which 5G technology is equipped for each iPhone model is still unknown.
There are two popular 5G wave frequencies available: those below 6 GHz (Sub-6) and mmWave, where mmWave is faster and consumes more battery. A source from Fast Company said that only the iPhone 12 Pro Max can meet the conditions to support 5G mmWave, while the rest of the iPhone models only support 5G Sub-6.
The camera uses a LIDAR sensor
Leaked images show that Apple’s new phone has more camera holes than previous versions. However, according to sources, this hole could be home to the Lidar sensor instead of a separate camera.
Lidar sensors use lasers to recognize objects around them, once used by Apple on the new iPad Pro. It helps the phone better recognize the surroundings, thereby improving AR experiences. However, according to sources, Lidar will be equipped on high-end iPhone models, low-cost products like the iPhone 12 and 12 Max will still have only two cameras.
New processor
As usual, each generation of iPhone comes with a new generation of Apple processors. According to its naming rule, the iPhone 12 will likely be equipped with the Apple A14 Bionic chip. The A14 Bionic chip will focus on increasing processing speed with artificial intelligence and AR tasks, sources said.
Faster charging but not included

Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple will sell a 20 Watt charger separately. Thus, the charging capacity for the iPhone 12 will be faster than 18 Watt as on the iPhone 11 Pro / Pro Max or 5 Watt on the iPhone 11. However, this charger will not be available in the box.
Configuration and price
L0vetodream leaks have revealed that the entry-level iPhone 12 models will start with 64 GB storage, 4 GB RAM, while the Pro products will be 128 GB and 6 GB RAM. Some rumors suggest that the 5.4-inch iPhone can use a 2,227mAh battery, the 6.1-inch iPhone has a 2,775-mAh battery, while the iPhone 6.7-inch has a 3,687mAh battery.
The price of the iPhone 12 is also controversial when some sources believe that it will be $ 50 higher than the old generation, due to the 5G connection. However, some others claim that Apple will reduce $ 50 or keep the same price as iPhone 11 generation because that is one of the factors that help Apple products succeed.
